Session Details
This 60-minute engagement session will include two breakout rooms hosted by different Board members, each covering a different topic. Following a brief welcome plenary, community members will be asked to join one of the two breakout rooms for a 40-minute discussion with the Board hosts for that topic. Attendees will be able to move freely between the breakout rooms. The session will conclude with all attendees coming together to hear each Board host’s summary of the discussions in their respective breakout rooms.
Topic 1: Advancing the Global Public Interest at ICANNLed by Becky Burr and Chris BuckridgeFormat of the engagement: discussion and soliciting inputDescription: This session will provide an overview of ICANN's ongoing efforts to understand and address the global public interest (GPI). Participants will learn about key tools, such as the GPI Framework and Checklist, developed in consultation with the community to help identify and address GPI considerations in ICANN's work. The session will also invite feedback on the checklist, explore ways to improve it, and discuss how it can support ICANN's bottom-up, community-driven processes.
Topic 2: Updating ICP-2Led by Christian Kaufmann and Alan BarrettFormat of the engagement: discussion and soliciting commentsDescription: Gathering community inputs to inform ICANN's continued engagement in the development of the updated ICP-2 document currently under discussion and encouraging ICANN community awareness and participation in the process. Please note that ICANN Staff will support this engagement session and take notes.
